Two years ago this month (February 2008) I purchased a Zelocity Pure Launch launch monitor for my small business. Unfortunately the Pure Launch did not perform as I was told it would by a company representative. I tried to return the Pure Launch but decided to keep it after being promised a software upgrade would be released shortly to fix the problems I had encountered.
Little did I know that a “short” time to Zelocity was more than 12 months. When I received the new software I found that all of the old problems still remained. After discussing the issues in the Zelocity Google Group a small group of Zelocity owners, after months of patiently waiting for new software, got together privately to determine just how well the Pure Launch actually did measure the four things Zelocity said it would. Unfortunately for Zelocity users our testing has concluded that the unit falls below what is considered acceptable to our group.
All information was given to Zelocity so that the problems we found might be addressed. It quickly became apparent that the folks in charge at Zeloctiy either couldn’t, or wouldn’t, address the issues. At that point the group members asked for a refund. After Zelocity twice rejected our refund request we have decided the time had come to let folks know what they are buying if they choose to buy a product from this company.
One of our members was able to get a refund from the retailer he purchased his Pure Launch from after they viewed some videos he submitted to YouTube. All of this, and more, will be posted on this site so those of you dealing with, or thinking of dealing with, Zelocity can benefit from our experiences.

How Accurate is the Pure Launch?
The following link is to the Technology page found at the Zelocity web site. As a reader can see it constantly mentions the accuracy of their products. It also gives a chart at the bottom of the page showing tolerances of four main things that are measured by their products.
One of our questions to them was if these four things are being measured to such accuracy then why is something as basic as “flight distance” not correct?
No one expects such perfection in the “real world” of golf ball measurement, and neither do we, but Zelocity is stating these tolerances on their web page so this is the page we used when asking them questions and doing our testing.

You will have to join Google groups to participate but at one time Zelocity was known to monitor the Zelocity group so this gives them a chance to comment on the topics posted there and on this Blog.
